Tablo 1: Başarılı olan ve devam eden mücadeleler

Dünyadaki mücadeleler, Cochabamba örneğinde olduğu gibi
şiddetli, kanlı veya Güney Afrika'da olduğu gibi sayaçların
kırıldığı eylemlerle olduğu kadar, halk düşmanı su
politikalarının uygulanmasına seçimler veya referandumlar yoluyla
engel olma gibi, çok sayıda farklı yöntemin uygulandığı
zengin bir çeşitlilik içermektedir.

Dünyada su hakkı uğruna verilmiş bu mücadeleler birçok
örgütün ortak çabası olarak şekillenmiştir.
Çok farklı tipte ve sayıda ittifaklar bu mücadelelerde yer
almıştır. Sendikalar, çevreci gruplar, tüketici dernekleri,
halk grupları, çiftçiler, bazen yöneticiler, bireysel
politikacılar, politik partiler ve örgütler, demokratik kitle
örgütleri bu ortak çalışmanın parçası
olmuşlardır.  

Su çalışanlarını temsil eden sendikalar neredeyse tüm
başarılı ve devam eden (Lodz, Debrecen, Trinidad, Cochabamba, Brezilya,
Güney Afrika, Endonezya, Uruguay gibi) özelleştirme karşıtı
mücadelelerde öncü bir rol üstlenmiştir. Özellikle
diğer grupları ve politik örgütleri hareketlendirmede önemli
bir işlevleri olmuştur. Montreal-Kanada'daki mücadelede
çevreciler kilit bir görev yapmışlardır.
Grenoble-Fransa'da yerel bir politik hareket olan ADES (Association
Démocratie Ecologie Solidarité – Demokrasi Ekoloji
Dayanışma Derneği) öncülüğünde partiler, sendikalar
ve tüketici dernekleri özelleştirme sonlandırılana dek
başarılı bir mücadele yürütmüşlerdir.

ticarileştirilmesi sürecine ve buna karşı verilen halk
mücadelelerine bakalım.
